Dave Barker

Master CNE, Master CNI, MCT, MCITP Server, MCSE, CLE
Dave Barker

Dave has been working with computer networks since the early 90's beginning with Netware 2.15. He has been a Certified Netware Engineer (CNE) since 1993 and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) since 1996. In addition to Novell and Microsoft technologies Dave is proficient with Citrix, Linux, and VMWare.

In Chicago Dave worked as a Network Engineer for a Fortune 500 company, Ply Gem Industries. His main duties were to oversee the Network Administrators at various manufacturing plants around the country, to maintain the wide area network (WAN) infrastructure, and to manage the corporate email system.

Dave left Ply Gem Industries to work for a training and integration company, Professional Computer Development Corporation. There he taught certification courses for Novell and Microsoft. His customers included some of Chicago's largest corporations such as Motorola, 3Com and Ameritech.

Dave and his wife moved to Columbia in May of 2000 to get away from cold weather and traffic congestion. Since then he has worked as an independent contractor consulting on projects around the state and as a systems trainer teaching courses all over the country.

Dave has been teaching classes for Training Concepts for years, but officially joined us as a full timer in July of 2006. Dave brings with him years of experience in the integration and migration of Novell and Microsoft products. His specialties in Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Hyper-V, Microsoft Exchange, Novell ZENworks, Novell GroupWise, Linux, and VMware fit in perfect with our core offerings.
